Halal Kiwi is a mobile application designed to assist users in identifying whether grocery items are Halal-certified. The app aimed to provide a convenient and user-friendly experience for individuals following Halal dietary restrictions by allowing users to scan the barcode of grocery items with their phones.
Problem
The app's visual design elements, such as colour schemes, typography, icons, and overall aesthetics, were not up to the desired standard. This impacted the app's overall appeal and brand representation. The developer of the app was open to exploring a newer and more fresh take on the design of his app.
Solution
The primary focus of this redesign was to create a visually appealing and coherent design that aligns with modern design principles. This involved updating colour schemes, fonts, icons, and other visual elements.
Results
While the redesign implementation remains pending, the potential for success and growth is evident. Halal Kiwi is poised to serve its users better and adapt to the evolving landscape of mobile applications while offering a more appealing and efficient user experience. The app has undergone several updates since the redesign, mainly focusing on adding new features for the Muslim community. In the future, we hope to aid the developer of Halal Kiwi in his ventures with the app, including a new mobile app and website design.
